In addition to diamond drilling, we take various kinds of measurements, such as measurements of the in situ-stresses in rock, or the actual route of the borehole. The measurements enable us to locate the ore deposit very precisely. We can also branch the hole by drilling one or more side-holes from the main hole. This will allow us to target the resources to the desired location.

Our measurement services complement the information about the borehole and provide us with valuable knowledge concerning the ore deposit.

•    Ez-Dip and Devi Dip inclinometers measure the inclination of the holes.
•    Deviflex, DeviTool, Flexit and Maxibor 2 survey the deviation
of the hole and its true location.
•    Water pressure tests specify the integrity of the rock.

Case: Kevitsa Winter 2009

KATI carried out a survey project for Kevitsa Mining Oy in Sodankylä, which is located in Finnish Lappland. The purpose was to find out deviations of old drill holes. Survey tool used was GyroSmart, and surveys were carried out without drill rig on site. This method made it possible to complete project quickly. See picture of survey work below.
